Christians must actively build kingdom institutions in 2025 rather than succumb to cultural demolition and apocalyptic predictions. This requires thinking Christianly about both past and future while taking practical action.

To think Christianly about the future, we must:

  • Honor our past as beneficiaries of previous generations
  • See ourselves as links in a multi-millennial chain from Abraham
  • Focus on making institutions more trustworthy and mission-oriented
  • Plan at least three generations ahead, following Paul's example

Current generational dynamics create both challenges and opportunities:

  • Silent generation has largely retired
  • Baby boomers are transitioning to advisory roles
  • Gen X and millennials must step up as servant leaders
  • Gen Z shows promising spiritual interest despite challenges

Six key roles Christians can take to build kingdom institutions:

  1. Ambassadors - Share the gospel through radical hospitality

  2. Trainers - Develop and teach spiritual disciplines

  3. Builders - Create flourishing institutions aligned with kingdom values

  4. Advisors - Influence key decision-makers through excellence

  5. Artists - Create beauty that offers hope

  6. Protestors - Challenge injustice and care for the wounded

Success requires:

  • Clear focus on Jesus's cross-shaped path
  • Willingness to sacrifice present comfort for future gain
  • Determination driven by joy rather than fear
  • Active investment in developing next-generation leaders
  • Building trustworthy institutions that serve others

These roles may shift over time, and individuals often occupy multiple roles simultaneously. The key is identifying our current calling and taking decisive action to build for the future.
