Mary Magdalene: First Witness to the Risen Christ
Mary Magdalene, first mentioned in Luke 8:2, was delivered from seven demons by Jesus. This profound transformation marked the beginning of her remarkable journey from spiritual bondage to becoming the first witness of the resurrection.
Rather than retreating after her deliverance, Mary became one of Jesus' most devoted followers. She remained present during His crucifixion when others fled, and was rewarded with being the first to witness the risen Christ.
The pivotal moment occurred at the tomb, as recorded in John 20:11-16, 18:
"Mary stood outside the tomb crying... she saw two angels where Jesus' body had been... Jesus stood there, but she did not realize it was him... Jesus said to her, 'Mary.' ... Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: 'I have seen the Lord!'"

This encounter demonstrates three powerful truths:
- Jesus meets us in our brokenness
- He calls us by name
- He transforms our identity and purpose
Mary's story exemplifies how Jesus can transform anyone's life - from demon-possessed to first evangelist of the resurrection. Her testimony continues to inspire believers that no one is beyond Christ's redemptive power.
