Living with abundant self-worth isn't just about feeling good—it's about being empowered to help others without hesitation. Many of us find ourselves making excuses when asked for help, often stemming from perceived deficiencies in our lives.

Common reasons we hesitate to help others:

  • Time scarcity ("I'm already running late")
  • Financial constraints ("I can't afford the extra gas")
  • Low self-worth ("They'll notice my flaws")

These reactions reveal our tendency to operate from a mindset of scarcity rather than abundance. When we focus on what we lack, we miss opportunities to experience the joy and fulfillment that comes from helping others.

The truth is, being there for others often returns unexpected blessings. As stated in Luke 6:38 (NIV): "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

Key takeaways for developing abundant self-worth:

  • Recognize that helping others enriches both lives
  • Move beyond excuse-making to action
  • Trust that generosity creates positive returns
  • Remember that your value isn't diminished by sharing your time or resources

By shifting from a scarcity mindset to one of abundance, we open ourselves to greater possibilities and deeper connections with others. Your capacity to give is a reflection of your inherent worth—embrace it fully.
