Biblical prophecy indicates a final revival of the Holy Roman Empire will emerge, comprising 10 European nations or groups of nations. According to Revelation 17:12-13, these nations will unite under one supreme leader (the beast) who will work closely with a religious leader based in Rome (the false prophet).

This prophesied system will:

• Eventually make war against Jesus Christ
• Be defeated when Christ returns to establish God's Kingdom
