Happiness is a Skill That Can Be Developed
Through darkness, God's light will shine - because everything is possible with Him. When faced with Isaiah 60:1's call to "Arise, shine," we might wonder how to do this while facing life's challenges. The answer lies in finding genuine happiness through faith.

At a women's event with over 1,000 attendees, a speaker made a striking observation: "This must be a church. Everyone looks so unhappy." This uncomfortable truth reflects how often we let life's difficulties dim our light.
The reality is that we're always facing some kind of challenge. There's always a reason to say, "I can't shine right now." But God knows our struggles and still calls us to rise and shine because His light can penetrate any darkness.
Psalm 1:1-3 (NLT) promises: "Oh the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked... But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do."
This scripture reveals a profound truth: joy can be found even in our biggest challenges when we seek it through God's Word. Even in mourning, there is comfort and blessing, as Matthew 5:4 (NLT) affirms: "God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted."
The key to lasting happiness lies in seeking God consistently, especially when we don't feel like it. As promised in Jeremiah 29:13, when we seek Him wholeheartedly, He reveals Himself through a joy that persists even in tough times - because His light drives out all darkness.
Remember: You are a miracle, and through faith, genuine happiness can be learned and maintained, regardless of circumstances.
