I don't care about my reflection, I care about my mission!
"I don't care..." can be a powerful statement when directed at the right things. Let me share a recent morning experience that taught me an important lesson about priorities.
Woman smiling at mirror reflection
At 5:30 AM, I jumped out of bed, filled with inspiration to write. Still in my pajamas, disheveled hair, and all, I caught my reflection in the living room mirror. I noticed changes in my appearance - less firm arms, drooping eyelids. But instead of falling into self-criticism, I heard myself say, "I don't care" and continued with my work.
This moment revealed something profound: when we're aligned with our true purpose, physical insecurities lose their power over us.
Our mission, as stated in Matthew 28:19, is to "Go and make disciples of all nations." In simpler terms: share hope wherever we go and be Christ's image on Earth. Genesis 1:26 reminds us that we were made "in God's image, to be like Him."
Why waste precious time criticizing our reflection when we could be fulfilling our divine purpose? Your mission might look different from mine, but remember this truth: your purpose is far greater than your appearance.
You are a miracle, created for impact beyond what any mirror can reflect.
