MERS Outbreak in US: Is This a Biblical Warning Sign?
Disease epidemics and biblical prophecies have gained renewed attention with MERS reaching the United States for the first time. This coronavirus, which causes severe respiratory distress, originated in Saudi Arabia and has been declared "a threat to the entire world" by the World Health Organization.

This outbreak coincides with another concerning health crisis - an Ebola outbreak in Guinea that has claimed 81 lives and reached Conakry, a major city with an international airport. Ebola's mortality rate can reach 90 percent, making it one of earth's deadliest viruses.
Adding to these concerns is the growing threat of antibiotic-resistant "superbugs." While antibiotics revolutionized medicine since World War II, their overuse has created resistant strains like MRSA, which now spreads beyond hospitals into communities. Britain's senior medical adviser has compared this threat to a potential catastrophic terrorist attack.
Biblical prophecy, specifically in Revelation 6, speaks of four horsemen of the Apocalypse. The fourth rides a pale horse (described as yellowish-green in color) and brings death through war, famine, disease, and wild animals. This horseman, named Death, is given authority over one-fourth of the earth, correlating with Jesus's prophecy about disease epidemics in Matthew 24:7.
Protection from these end-time events requires spiritual preparation through repentance and obedience to God. As Luke 21:36 states, we must "watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass and to stand before the Son of Man."
