Natural Disasters in America: Will They Ever End?
Natural disasters in the U.S. have caused unprecedented damage in recent years, with costs exceeding $200 billion between 2011-2012 - more than double the previous five years combined. These include devastating wildfires, floods, tornadoes, and hurricanes causing both financial losses and human tragedy.
The Bible connects national obedience to God with blessings or troubles a nation faces. America's shifting moral landscape, including changing views on marriage, sexuality, and general biblical values, parallels ancient Israel's path before its downfall.
According to Scripture, God holds nations accountable, especially those blessed with prosperity and access to His Word. Deuteronomy 28:15 warns that disobedience leads to curses and destruction: "But if you do not obey the voice of the LORD your God... all these curses will come upon you and overtake you."

Historical examples show two possible outcomes:
- Nineveh repented when warned of destruction and was spared
- Sodom and Gomorrah refused to change and were destroyed
2 Chronicles 7:14 offers hope: "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
The solution lies in national and individual repentance - turning away from breaking God's laws and returning to biblical values. While national change may seem unlikely, individuals can still choose to follow God's ways and receive His protection during troubled times.
