Truth in Worship: Are You Following God's Way?
In today's world of competing beliefs, God calls us to worship Him according to truth rather than human traditions. Jesus emphasized this when He told the Samaritan woman that true worshippers must "worship the Father in spirit and truth" (John 4:23).

True worship must align perfectly with God's revealed truth found in Scripture. Mixing truth with error creates syncretism - a practice God condemns. The Samaritans exemplified this by combining Israelite teachings with pagan practices after being resettled in northern Israel by the Assyrians.
This same syncretistic approach appears in mainstream Christianity today through holidays like Christmas, which blends biblical events with pagan customs:
- December 25th comes from Roman sun worship, not Jesus' actual birth date
- Gift-giving traditions stem from the Roman Saturnalia festival
- Christmas trees were condemned as pagan customs (Jeremiah 10:1-4)
- The Bible never commands celebrating Jesus' birth
King Ahab's story demonstrates the danger of rejecting divine truth. Despite having access to God's true prophet Micaiah, Ahab chose to believe false prophets instead. This decision cost him his life in battle, just as Micaiah had warned.

To worship God acceptably, we must:
- Embrace His truth completely
- Reject human traditions that contradict Scripture
- Live by every word of God (Matthew 4:4)
- Choose truth over comfort or convenience
